Labour Agreement

Labour agreements serve as a crucial tool for approved businesses facing a demonstrated need for skilled overseas workers, where standard visa programs fail to suffice. Developed through collaboration between the Australian Government (represented by the Department) and employers, these agreements typically span five years and facilitate visas under various programs, including the Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa (subclass 482), the Employer Nomination Scheme visa (subclass 186), and the Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 494).

Types of labour agreements:

There are five primary types of labour agreements:

  • Company Specific labour agreements

  • Designated Area Migration Agreements (DAMA)

  • Global Talent Employer Sponsored (GTES) agreements

  • Industry labour agreements

  • Project agreements
