Chitra is an admitted lawyer who has access to registration as a migration agent. She joined the team in early 2019 as a legal trainee initially whilst completing her legal studies. She was admitted as a solicitor in October 2019 in the Federal Court of Australia. She also completed her Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Media from Macquarie University in 2018. Chitra won the international humanitarian law moot in 2017 and successfully raised $10,000 for UNHCR by hiking in Nepal. She has extensive experience in various community legal centres around NSW and with the Refugee Advice and Casework Services. Chitra has a passion for media and TV and has volunteered in events such as TEDx, Amnesty International and the Human Rights Arts and Film Festival. She has also completed a TV and Media Internship with the United Nation Association of Australia.
